Say what one will about V-Day, Valentine's Day -- and this year, for some reason, seemed to feature a lot of backlash in the form of 'Single Awareness Day,' thanks for the heads-up, Kimi Evans -- but it went from heads (mannequins resembling ex-boyfriends blowed up, blowed up real good) to kind hearts (county-officiated wedding renewal vows) and coronets on Monday around San Diego County.
For those curious about the day, Fox 5/69, KSWB-TV, had two reports, fair and balanced, presenting each side in the Valentine's Day argument. First video up, the con, as in now-KyXy 96.5 radio personalities Jeff and Jer blowing up the holiday in the viral way. Second video, a look at the pro-, as San Diego County officials continue a local Valentine's Day tradition of $100 wedding vow reneals at the county building on the embarcadero. This years renewals also were available for gay couples married legally during the 6-month window before state law changed.
