San Dieguito Woman's Club of Encinitas Become first Stardust Angels to Sponsor Youth Art

The San Dieguito Woman's Club of Encinitas sponsors students in need and serves as Stardust Angels in an art program that serves the underserved in communities in North County. With appreciation and gratitude from students and families.

The San Dieguito Woman’s Club is sponsoring Britnee, (photo, left) and Hailey as “Stardust Angels” in an art program, which provides art as an education and life skill experience. 

Britnee and Hailey experienced educational art instruction in the development of creativity and imagination. Providing them an opportunity they would have not been able to share in otherwise, their enthusiasm and awe of their hidden abilities, brought smiles to their faces and warmed the hearts of parents and school staff. The art classes are being held in the Oceanside Unified School District schools and have been a well accepted program in the past school years, 2009-2010 and 2010 -2011. 

The Stardust Arts is able to make a difference in the lives some very special students with the sponsorship of The San Dieguito Woman’s Club and the cooperation of the schools.

Founded by Cheryl Ehlers in 2009 and sponsored by a grant from the Kenneth A Picerne Foundation, The Stardust Arts was recently recognized by the California Assembly and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.   

The program has been widely accepted and recently co-partnered with a non-profit organization, Dr. Wilderness Show, Inc., an Emmy award winning environmental educator, utilizing magic to communicate to the youth of today. The Stardust Arts looks forward to our future in sharing the magic of art.
