TODAY @ Rancho Santa Fe: Scripps Distinguished Speaker at Garden Club, new Rowe School soccer field...
(The scene at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club on Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Distinguished Speaker Series presentation by Dr. Nayna Patel and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.)

Dr. Nayna Patel, (photo left) an orthopedic specialist with Scripps Health, got real and got down with about 70 people at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club Distinguished Speaker Series.
Patel's emphasis was on alternative healing practices and the benefits of pilates, yoga, and acupuncture. An university of Michigan medical school graduate and board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, Patel offered practical advice and positive solutions.
And oh, by, the way, Tim Cusac and Caffe Positano provided freshly baked pastries and hot beverages at the free event enjoyed by all.
More RSF school soccer fields? Find out Tuesday at the school board meeting

The Rancho Santa Fe School District Board discusses, and possibly approves a new soccer field for R. Roger Rowe School next week.
You'll have to get up early to attend the festivities as the meeting starts at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1. It's at the performing arts center at the school, 5927 La Granada, Rancho Santa Fe.
Board trustees were expected to decide between natural turf at an estimated $1.28 million and artificial turf estimated to cost around $1.77 million. Also, the question of field size must be answered with a configuration of 55-yards by 100-yards apparently front-running.
